Join a global network of 27 international financial centers working together on shared projects, best practices and financial innovation.

The World Alliance

The World Alliance of International Financial Centers (WAIFC) is a non-profit association founded in 2018 and registered in Brussels. It is the leading global platform of international financial centers, acting as a catalyst for bilateral, regional and global collaboration, fostering financial innovation and cooperating with major international organizations.

The Alliance is project-driven: its members lead and sponsor projects and working groups, share best practices and communicate jointly. It promotes international financial centers worldwide but does not perform lobbying.

Membership policy

Members

City governments, associations and similar institutions that develop and promote an international financial center. Members take an active part in the Alliance's projects and working groups, its General Meeting and its events.

Observers

Organisations connected to a financial center that wish to follow and contribute to the work of the Alliance, for example before becoming a member.

Joining the Alliance gives your financial center:

  • a direct line to the leading international financial centers on five continents;
  • the opportunity to lead or join projects and working groups, and to share their results;
  • a place at the Annual General Meeting, regional roundtables and the events of the network;
  • visibility through the Alliance's publications, opinions, newsletter and Young Academic Award.

How to join

    Get in touch

    Contact our Head of Membership, Thomas Krantz, to introduce your financial center and discuss how you would like to take part.

  2. 02

    Exchange and application

    We present the Alliance, its projects and its membership conditions, and you send a short application describing your organisation.

  3. 03

    Review by the Board

    The Board of Directors reviews the application and makes its recommendation.

  4. 04

    Welcome to the Alliance

    The General Meeting decides on the admission, and the new member or observer is announced to the network.
