World Alliance Joins Uzbekistan Business Forum in Busan

Tashkent International Financial Centre hosts forum on connecting international capital with opportunities in Uzbekistan during WAIFC AGM week.

The World Alliance joined the Uzbekistan Business Forum in Busan as part of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) week, following the recent admission of the Tashkent International Financial Centre (TIFC) as a new member of the World Alliance.

Organized by TIFC under the theme “Connecting Capital with Opportunity: TIFC & Enterprise Uzbekistan,” the forum brought together representatives from Uzbekistan and the international financial-center community to discuss the country's evolving financial ecosystem and its growing links with global markets.

The program featured contributions from Bokhodir Ayupov, Vice President of Global Business Development at Enterprise Uzbekistan; Jochen Biedermann, Managing Director of the World Alliance; Hubertus Väth, Managing Director of Frankfurt Main Finance; and Nodirjon Juraev, representing TIFC, among other speakers.

Exploring Uzbekistan's financial potential

Discussions focused on the development of Uzbekistan's financial sector and the opportunities arising as the country strengthens its connections with international markets.

Participants examined the role of Tashkent as an emerging financial center and explored how Uzbekistan can attract international capital, expertise and investment as its financial ecosystem continues to develop.

The forum also provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of international cooperation in supporting the development of financial centers and creating stronger connections between businesses, investors and financial institutions across markets.

Strengthening TIFC's international engagement

The event came shortly after TIFC joined the World Alliance, providing an early opportunity for the new member to engage directly with representatives of financial centers from around the world.

For the World Alliance, the forum also marked an opportunity to deepen its engagement with Uzbekistan and support TIFC's participation in its international network.

The discussions in Busan highlighted the increasingly interconnected nature of financial centers, where the exchange of capital, expertise and knowledge can help create new opportunities across borders.

The World Alliance congratulated TIFC, the speakers and all participants on a productive forum and welcomed the opportunity to continue strengthening its collaboration with Tashkent as the center develops its international role.
