The IFC Oman is a specialized, independent financial and legal hub located in Madinat Al Irfan, Muscat, established under Royal Decree 8/2026. Built on common law principles and designed for international relevance, it is intended to provide a credible, future-focused platform for financial and professional services.
What is the International Financial Centre?
Royal Decree 8/2026 established IFC Oman as an independent jurisdiction with its own legal personality, drawing a clear boundary between the Centre’s jurisdiction and Omani law to build financial autonomy and an institutional structure grounded in international standards.
The IFC Oman Law establishes three legally independent and administratively autonomous authorities. It also creates independent IFC Oman courts, operating under Common Law with a dedicated legal system, while judgments continue to be issued in the name of His Majesty the Sultan.
Within this framework, the Sultanate’s sovereign authority remains intact and unambiguous: Omani law continues to govern criminal matters, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT), cybercrime, and specific tax regimes.
